Oast Quiche Recipe
Kent School dinner recipes
This quiche can be eaten hot or cold as a main meal or starter. But is especially good when made using fresh tomatoes from the garden.
Serves 4-6
Ingredients
75g sliced fresh tomatoes
100g cheese – grated
2 eggs
125ml milk
5g chopped mixed parsley and chives
Shortcrust pastry
125g plain flour
50g wholemeal flour
75g margarine
30ml Ice cold water
Method
1 Make pastry, line the tin. Prick with dinner fork.
2 Put grated cheese, parsley and chives into lined tin.
3 Whisk together the eggs and milk.
4 Pour over grated cheese.
5 Cook in oven Reg 8, 450°F or 230°C for 15 minutes.
6 Reduce to Regulo 4, 350°F or 180°C for a further 30 minutes.
7 Serve hot or cold garnished with sliced tomato.
